MID LENGTHS

   Board Features:

  • Extra Deep Parallel Nose Channel:                                                                                                            Helps with early wave entry, increases stability whilst maintaining planning speed on the wave. Also water is made to compress and speed up through the channel creating "lift", for increased stability when nose riding.

  • Squash Nose:                                                                                                                                            You have heard of the squash tail. Well the squash nose does a similar thing from the front. Increased stability and balances the board for nose riding.

  • High Volume:                                                                                                                                               The board sits higher in the water which increases paddle-ability and allows for nice stable board for walking and nose riding.

  • Pin tail:                                                                                                                                                           The sharp pin tail offers great hold in steeper wave faces and gives you a easier subtle shift dynamic when turning.

  • Squash tail (option):                                                                                                                                           The widest point is pushed further up the board to give you stability under your chest when paddling and nearer the front when nose riding.

  • Soft to performance rail:                                                                                                                             Hard rails in the tail and nose area creates great hold in the wave and allows you to project out of your bottom turns. Combined with the softer rail in the fuller central part of the board this board releases when turning and water spirals along the curve when walking the board helping with stability on the wave side edge.

  • Flat Belly to slight V:                                                                                                                                    The flat allows the board to plane flat sections and the V through the tail gives this board a smooth rail to rail transition.

  • Fin Set Up:                                                                                                                                                   This board comes as a 2 + 1 Set up (two sides and a longboard box center)  in all sizes off the shelf. Side fins are Fcs1 or  Fcs2 on PU boards and Future system on epoxylite boards.

  • Construction:                                                                                                                                                 The Magic Stick comes in PU construction only. PU is the traditional construction of closed cell foam, stringer, fibreglass and polyster resin. Custom options are available.

  • Cloth:                                                                                                                                                                All boards feature 1 x 6oz + 1 x 4ozglass on deck and double 4oz  underneath. With custom build we can add layers or change weights.

The Magic Stick is one of our newest and best selling surfboards. What started out as a fun project to see how small you can make a board that will still nose ride. Turned into one hell of a unique and "Magestical" board!!!

It was first shaped  by Lee Hallam for a friend as a bit of a fun summer board.

"He wanted a sort of Egg / Magic Carpet type thing and I had been working on seeing how you could increase lift without the planing length."

So after some long conversations and deep thought Lee set about shaping a 6'8" mini nose rider. The resulting board was tested at Pen Hale. On the first wave Lee walked to the nose and hung ten!!

"Holy shit I thought? And Daz surely enough hung five on his first two waves!! We thought wow! it works!! this really does not usually happen with the first shape. Usually some refinements are needed but, this board was just magic. And then the name just jumped out of my head! The Magic Stick!"

We run The Classic in three sizes 8'6, 9'1 and 9'6, the 8'6 is proving very popular with the ladies and for those wanting an easier carry or folk with storage and transport issues.

Available in both off the shelf and as custom builds and some models even feature 60s style twin stringers.

Personally I don't like it! You have gone and made all of my longboards obsolete.....
